Jewellery care

ALISAR takes pride in crafting jewellery that combines elegance with durability. Our pieces are designed to last, but proper care is essential to maintain their beauty over time. This guide provides care instructions for our various materials, including 18k Gold Filled, 18k Gold Plated, 925 Sterling Silver, and Stainless Steel chains.

Understanding Your Jewellery

  • 18k Gold Filled: Features a thick layer of 18k gold bonded to a base metal, offering enhanced durability and resistance to tarnishing compared to gold-plated items.

  • 18k Gold Plated: Consists of a thin layer of 18k gold electroplated onto a base metal. While offering a luxurious appearance, it requires gentle handling to prevent wear.

  • 925 Sterling Silver: Composed of 92.5% pure silver, this metal is known for its lustrous finish. It is more resistant to water but can tarnish over time without proper care.

  • Stainless Steel Chains: All our chains are crafted from high-quality stainless steel, known for its strength, resistance to rust, and hypoallergenic properties.

Essential Care Tips

  1. Avoid Water Exposure

    • While stainless steel and sterling silver are more water-resistant, it's advisable to remove all jewellery before swimming, bathing, or engaging in activities involving water to prevent potential damage or tarnishing.

  2. Limit Contact with Chemicals

    • Apply perfumes, lotions, and hairsprays before putting on your jewellery. Chemicals can dull finishes and affect the longevity of the pieces.

      • Stainless Steel: Clean with warm water and mild soap, using a soft-bristled toothbrush for crevices. Dry with a soft cloth to prevent water spots.

  6. Do Not Sleep in Jewellery

    • Sleeping with jewellery on can cause undue stress on the pieces, leading to potential breakage or deformation.

Additional Tips for Stainless Steel Chains

  • Durability: Stainless steel is highly durable and resistant to rust, making it suitable for daily wear. However, it's still best to avoid prolonged exposure to harsh chemicals and saltwater to maintain its shine.

  • Polishing: Occasionally polish your stainless steel chains with a soft cloth to restore their original lustre .

  • Storage: Store stainless steel jewellery separately to prevent scratches from other pieces.
